Sophia Dassyra

Who We Are

Sophia Dassyra is a researcher, meditation teacher, and healing practitioner whose work bridges ancient wisdom traditions with contemporary approaches to transformation. Based in Pokhara, Nepal, she guides individuals and organisations on journeys of deep learning, inner healing, and personal growth — whether through sacred travel experiences, intensive study at the Wisdom School, or personalised one-to-one sessions.

Buddhist Studies & Himalayan Immersion

A dedicated practitioner in the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, Sophia has lived in Nepal since 2022, deepening her studies at Rangjung Yeshe Institute — the Buddhist Studies department of Kathmandu University — while pursuing independent doctoral research in Buddhist Studies. Her understanding is shaped not only by academic rigour but by extensive retreat experience, pilgrimage journeys across Buddhist Asia, and close relationships with monastic communities throughout the Himalayas.

This depth of immersion allows her to offer authentic transmission — teaching and guiding from direct experience rather than scholarly theory alone. Whether leading meditation sessions, exploring Buddhist philosophy, or accompanying travellers through Nepal's sacred landscapes, Sophia weaves together intellectual precision and lived realisation in everything she offers.

Healing & Embodied Wisdom

Sophia’s healing practice brings together Usui-lineage Reiki, mindfulness-based and Gestalt counselling, and meditation drawn from her years in the Karma Kagyu lineage. Grounded in both traditional contemplative methods and evidence-based therapeutic frameworks, she works with body, mind and spirit — helping people steady the nervous system, release what holds them back, and reconnect with their own capacity for wholeness.

Beyond formal sessions, she draws on breath, movement and reflective practice as gentle pathways to self-discovery and lasting change — honouring the wisdom carried not only in the mind, but in the body and the emotions.

Our Teachers

The Wisdom School draws on a small circle of experienced teachers and practitioners, each grounded in genuine lineage and years of practice:

  • Buddhist Teachers & Meditation Guides

Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and the contemplative practices at the heart of our therapeutic and Sangam courses, drawn from living Tibetan lineages.

  • Yoga Teachers & Therapists

Classical yoga philosophy and therapeutic yoga, working with the body as a path to steadiness, health and awareness.

  • Reiki & Energy-Healing Practitioners

Usui-lineage Reiki and the subtle-body traditions, taught both as self-healing and as a path of compassion.

  • Hindu & Vedic Wisdom Teachers

The Hindu voice of our Sangam Sessions, and the yogic and Ayurvedic roots of practices such as the female-cycle and energy-body courses.
